Tim Niemier

The Origami Paddler is another revolutionary water craft design from Tim Niemier. Kayakers will likely recognize the sit-on-top kayak design which Niemier introduced in the late 1990s, as founder of Ocean Kayak. That design, known for its stablility without compromising performance, took the kayak industry by storm. Even today, most every recreational kayak sold is based on Niemier’s design.

Since then Niemier has worked with many companies to provide them with new water craft designs to encourage more people to enjoy the water. His mantra for many years has been to “put a billion butts in boats.”  His new mantra? “Put 2 billion feet on boards!”
